Everyone has afflictions. Everyone has sufferings. And God doesn't waste them.
In Hosea 6, God promises: "He has torn us, that He may heal us."
In Job 19, a man facing death declares: "I know that my Redeemer lives... and after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God."
Even in the deepest pain, this isn't the end for the believer.

We don't beat an old affection by gritting our teeth. We beat it by finding a greater one.
