🚨BREAKING: The State of Texas just pulled $110 million in funding from the City of Houston over their new rule that limits when Houston Police officers can contact ICE.

Mayor John Whitmire shared the message today, calling this "a crisis situation."

The money is all for public safety. Mayor Whitmire says this will impact "public safety services across our city."

This is really bad news with the World Cup and thousands of tourists headed for Houston in just a few months.

Last week, Houston City Council voted 12-5 to enact an ordinance that limits how and when they can contact immigration agents. The ordinance makes clear that an ICE administrative warrant alone, a civil document that does not allege a criminal offense, would not justify a stop, arrest, or continued detention by HPD. If no crime is suspected, the individual must be released.
