So in the photo, I don’t know if you can see me so well, but you will find my big b***y down below this particular day as you can see we were working with Willis for possibly a Vogue or cosmopolitan shoot.

The Makeup artist who I hadn’t worked with said that she couldn’t do her job with me sitting on the ground, which is where I usually used to sit and do the toes. If you know anybody that’s ever worked with me, they say oh my God Nettie is the best. She’s never in the way, but that wasn’t the point. She just didn’t want me there at all.

She had a problem with me from the very beginning so every time the Producer came back to ask us if we were almost done. I’d look at them and say well I haven’t really gotten started yet and they would give me a look like Netty get going that’s when this photo took place.

I knew one of the pees on set and I said I really need you to take this photo because people don’t really understand how certain people are treated so she took the photo for me and I was grateful and we laughed about it, but I was really angry. I told myself to keep going and I did .

Lawn bu****le a week later I was working with the same mega Artists and we were in the desert somewhere doing some big blue Jean ad. There were like 20 models and three Manicurist once again I stepped inside the trailer and said I really have to get started at this point I wasn’t gonna take your s**t anymore so I waited outside of the trailer like she asked me to with a big smile.

Lol she must’ve been new onset because you can’t pull that on a production film set. The second AD showed up and asked me why I was outside the trailer. I promptly told him it’s because the Makeup artist won’t let me do my job. She says we interfere if we touch the Hands. He went in there chewed her out.

Usually when someone’s a problem or they lapse over their time they go into the production report. That report will most likely mean you won’t be hired again. I went inside the trailer did my job with a big smile lol. This was the last time I would work with her and I was so happy for it. Remember..don’t let anyone steal your joy!

A logo in the corner isn’t enough anymore—corporations can crop those out in seconds. If we want to keep our ownership rights tight, we have to watermark beyond the visual.

To protect your IP, make your identity inseparable from the art. Brand the “DNA”: Use a signature lighting setup or a specific high-end background that acts as your creative fingerprint.

Physical Integration: Place your unique tools or branded packaging—like a refillable bottle—directly in the frame. It’s hard to steal the work when your tech is the star.

The Paper Trail: Post your custom mixing process and sketches. That’s your proof of fabrication if a “multimillion-dollar campaign” tries to claim it.

We aren’t just painting nails; we’re building intellectual property. Make it impossible for them to separate the artist from the art. 💅✨

How are you locking down your IP?
Let’s talk in the comments!

Ciao!
