Great turnout at yesterday’s HRBC, Houston's Premier Business Coalition luncheon!

We had the privilege of hearing Mark P. Jones break down the Primary Election recap with sharp insights and real-world context.

Always a strong discussion when data meets experience.

The midterms will be tough, so make sure to come out and vote Republican!

This past Monday I had the pleasure of attending a great cross-partisan discussion put together by Council Member Julian Ramirez and the Houston chapter of Braver Angels. We discussed, in a very respectful and orderly manner, recent ICE activities and what they should be restricted to in ex*****on of their duties.

If you're civically-minded, you should definitely make it a point to attend next time!

There's still some time to get in line and vote.

You will not be turned away from voting as long as you get in line before 7:00 PM!

Today we celebrate Texas Independence Day, a defining moment in 1836 when delegates at Washington-on-the-Brazos declared independence from Mexico and formed the Republic of Texas.

The courage shown at the The Alamo and the leadership of figures like Sam Houston helped shape the bold, resilient spirit that still defines Texas today.

Texas was built on independence, grit, and a willingness to lead... values that continue to drive business, community, and opportunity across our great state.

Here’s to freedom, perseverance, and the enduring spirit of Texas.

🤠 Happy Texas Independence Day!

Early voting starts tomorrow and over 800,000 students in Harris County need the strong leadership that Beverly Frances can provide on the Board of Directors of HCDE!

Beverly regularly holds these conversations around town, creating opportunities to hear directly from parents, educators, and residents. Accessible dialogue and community input are essential parts of the public education conversation.

It was great running into my friend Beverly Frances at a happy hour earlier this week. We had a chance to talk about her race for Board of Directors of HCDE and her views about education in Harris County.

I've known Beverly for a long time and can attest to her dedication to good education. She believes it's the foundation of what sets people on a path to success. Harris County needs leaders like Beverly in office, so make sure to go vote for her in this primary election on March 3rd.

Early voting starts this coming Tuesday, February 17th, if you want to skip the lines!

Last night, I attended a thoughtful and engaging discussion with Beverly Frances, who is running for a position on the Harris County Department of Education Board.

The conversation centered on the needs of the more than 800,000 students across Harris County and the importance of the strong and dedicated leadership in public education that Beverly will provide.

It was a valuable opportunity to hear directly about priorities, accountability, and ways to better support students, educators, and families throughout the county.

Election Day is March 3rd, and early voting begins February 17th for those who prefer to vote ahead of time. Be sure to review the candidates and make a plan to participate.

Glad to see such a great turnout at tonight's Executive Committee Meeting of the Harris County Republican Party held at Glorious Way Church. It's always good to be part of grassroots activism in Harris County and to see so many great candidates dedicated to making a difference in our communities.

Just got back from the candidate forum hosted by the HRBC, Houston's Premier Business Coalition and it was a great event!

It was genuinely refreshing to hear directly from so many candidates running for Harris County Judge. There are strong, thoughtful people running on both sides of the aisle, and I appreciate everyone who took the time to show up, answer tough questions, and lay out their vision for our community. That said, if we’re serious about moving Harris County forward and ending the disastrous leadership we’ve seen from the current County Judge (flood mitigation failures, skyrocketing crime, bail policies that put dangerous offenders back on our streets, and a property tax burden that’s crushing families), then there’s really only one choice this cycle: we need to elect the Republican nominee for County Judge.

We deserve better management, better priorities, and real accountability at the top. Also loved running into several friends in the crowd who are seriously considering jumping into races themselves soon — exciting times ahead for Harris County GOP talent!Early voting is underway. Let’s finish strong and take our county back.

On this Columbus Day, let's remember the extraordinary legacy of Christopher Columbus, a man whose faith and vision shaped the world.

A devout Catholic from Genoa, Columbus viewed his voyages as a divine mission. He carried the Bible everywhere, named islands after saints, and even signed his name as "Christo Ferens" (Christ-bearer).

His journals overflow with prayers and references to Providence guiding him across the Atlantic in 1492, driven by a zeal to spread Christianity to new lands.

In doing so, Columbus inadvertently set the stage for ending the horrific practices of human sacrifice that plagued parts of the Americas. While the Taino people he first encountered were peaceful, further exploration revealed empires like the Aztecs, where tens of thousands were ritually slaughtered annually in blood-soaked temples. The arrival of European explorers, inspired by Columbus, introduced Christian ethics that ultimately dismantled these barbaric rituals, saving countless lives from the altars of pagan gods.

Columbus's ambitions went even further: he dreamed of using the wealth from his discoveries to fund a new Crusade. With the Reconquista fresh in memory after the fall of Granada, he petitioned Ferdinand and Isabella to reclaim Jerusalem from Muslim control, seeing his enterprise as a holy war against infidels.

Yet in recent decades, revisionist history has sought to diminish this giant of exploration. Activists and academics, often driven by modern ideologies, paint him as a villain, ignoring his role in bridging worlds and fostering global exchange. Statues toppled, holidays renamed... it's a concerted effort to erase the man who opened the door to the New World.

SCREW THAT NOISE

Columbus wasn't perfect, but his courage, faith, and impact deserve celebration. Happy Columbus Day, everyone! Let's honor the explorers who dared to dream big.
