What do we do? Glad you asked.
TAIBA is a movement that creates OPPORTUNITIES for Muslim Women to build connections and boost community engagement.
Taiba is a hub for our daughters (21+) and ourselves to connect, learn and build strong communities.
Studies show that strong social bonds and community involvement is correlated with longer life. Social isolation is a universal problem in today’s society. Many people report feeling lonelier than ever. Taiba is a hub of connection for Muslim women, where real bonds are formed and community engagement is fostered.
PROGRAMS
1) At the Table, a platform for local Muslimahs to share their stories with TAIBA participants, held the last Thursday of every month. Storytelling is a powerful tool for transformation, especially for Muslim reverts who often find themselves doubly isolated from their families and their newfound Muslim community.
2) TAIBA Talks, where Muslim women learn & teach the Art of Connection through 8 workshops. Each session is taught by exceptional Muslimahs in the local community over the course of 3 months. TAIBA participants reflect on their learnings through group discussions, then apply their new skills by leading a project in their local community.
