The Hardin-Simmons University family extends its heartfelt condolences upon the passing of Dr. Robert B. Sloan, Jr., President of Houston Christian University and former President of Baylor University.

Raised in Abilene, Dr. Sloan served as an adjunct professor at Hardin-Simmons University early in his academic career, and we are grateful for the connection he shared with our university. His life of service to Christian higher education touched countless students, colleagues, and institutions.

Our prayers are with Sue, the Sloan family, and the Houston Christian University community during this time.

We mourn the loss of Houston Christian University President Robert B. Sloan Jr., following his passing, and send our prayers and condolences to his family and the HCU community.
