Cousins.. a cherished part of a child’s upbringing. In our culture many of us are blessed with cousins that are more like siblings. We often do not realize how important this relationship is until we are older and realize we have built in day ones. I was fortunate enough to grow up being close with my cousins. We saw each other multiple times a week if not daily and did everything together. Even as life has taken us to various areas of the country and world as adults, those relationships are some of the most memorable and we can always pick up where we left off. Family is important. If you are lucky enough to have cousin- siblings keep them close. These relationships will be ones you lean on in life when you need to be around people who know you for real and love you regardless. Cousins are important. Keep them close ❤️
She’s a year younger than I remember as my first time in the kitchen on a chair. We’ve upgraded, she has a tiered step stool with a safety bar just for these moments. Why? Cause in our family this scene is a labor of the deepest love. Being a part of the meal preparation is something my grandchildren unprompted have naturally gravitated towards in their homes and today was no different. Penelope wanted to help Gigi, so in less than a 2 min lesson she learned to season and bread catfish. Family traditions are so important but this one is definitely at the top of my list. We love to cook in our family and it comes quite naturally. I am in a happy place knowing Penelope has embraced this shared love. Allow children to explore their interests as early as they express them to you. Put safety measures in place, offer guidance, instill a sense of pride and watch them flourish! Penny Pooh, Gigi is proud proud! Love you and the fish was absolutely delicious, of course. “We don’t make no nasty food” 🤷🏽♀️
