Designed specifically for homeschool students, these daytime classes help young actors build confidence, creativity, communication skills, and lasting friendships in a supportive and engaging environment.

FREE AMDA Workshop at Studio for Actors Houston

Learn audition techniques from Broadway actress, producer, and director Vasthy Mompoint in this free interactive workshop hosted by Studio for Actors Houston.

Participants will work on audition material, receive practical feedback, and learn professional techniques for both acting and musical theatre auditions.

Date: Wednesday, June 17
Time: 7:30–8:50 PM
Cost: Free

Please prepare:
• Two contrasting 1-minute monologues OR one monologue and 32 bars (approximately 1 minute) of a song
• All audition material should be memorized
• Musical theatre participants should bring their accompaniment track on a Bluetooth-capable device

Studio June Update:
It’s been a busy few months at the Studio getting ready for the Summer and training students through audition season!

We’ve seen some great work and progress from our Advanced classes, and Alliance Prep gave students a chance to sharpen their monologues.

Our Young Performers class finished with a fantastic showcase for parents and friends. We’re excited to continue Youth classes with our Summer Studios!

The Health Fair for Artists helped artists find health providers and participate in fun, active events.

We’ve got some great classes coming up in Musical Theatre and screenwriting, and our core classes are a providing beginners and intermediate actors real, practical training.

It’s been a busy few months, and we hope to keep providing the best training and support for Houston actors that we can. Happy Summer!

Serious acting training for high school students starts this summer on July 6!

Led by actor and educator Jay Gracia, this two week intensive gives young performers the opportunity to strengthen their acting technique, voice, movement, scene work, and creative confidence in a focused, professional environment.

Students will train through acting exercises, monologues, movement work, and scene study while developing stronger presence, imagination, and emotional truth in performance. The program concludes with a final showcase for family and friends.
