Ace of Clubs… Say hello to Atryx who is a 4 year old Mini American Shepherd. She loves flyball and nosework. She's opinionated, bossy, and an expert cuddler. She feels it necessary to alert her brothers to important events like her Mom waking up or a neighbor watering their lawn.

So it’s a blurry picture, but I decided to take a painting break yesterday afternoon and watch a movie. Remarkably Bright Creatures. I read the book… which was amazing! But my movie mate had very different plans for me! She routinely throws her body on my head I’m trying to relax in bed. 😂

The other Joker in the deck! Shelby absolutely loved people...especially men and most especially her human Chris. She would sit in his lap for hours out on the deck. At the vet, she knew where every treat jar was and took full advantage, no one could resist her. She ruled benevolently over her domain as an alpha, letting her housemate Ava have her throne until Ava passed... and then she assumed the position that had been hers all along.

And now... the next half of the deck begins! Clubs and Spades are coming! Stay tuned...

Took a needed vacay break after 25 paintings but I am back on the playing card train... LaLa, Cooper, and Butter love their island life. Kayaking is a frequent and much loved activity for them. They wear little doggie life jackets but for the painting, I took a little artistic license to show them in full form. The "Seven Seas" has special meaning to their humans in regards to their bayside neighborhood.

Today is the opening reception for my Playing Card deck art! I know a lot of you guys are not in Houston. So now I have a link to pre-order the collectors’ edition of this deck. It will be an oversized deck (Cards will measure 3.5 x 5“). I will eventually print a regular size deck, but this deck is going to be special.
