As many of you know, Dr. María Teresa Garcia, Principal of Memorial Elementary, will be accepting a promotion within our school district at the end of this school year. The task of identifying candidates and selecting a new principal is quickly underway. You are invited to join me on Monday, June 7, 2021, at 5:30pm via a virtual townhall meeting so that you are afforded the opportunity to have a voice in the process. Memorial Elementary is thrilled to be part of Houston Independent School District G/T Department’s PILOT PROGRAM for MENTORS! Our participating 5th grade students were partnered with MENTORS from KPMG, a worldwide accounting firm with offices in Houston. The Mentors met with the small groups two times and focused on one of three areas: MATH, TECHNOLOGY, and LEADERSHIP. All participants had a positive experience and we look forward to CONTINUED PARTNERSHIPS in the fall! Burbank Elementary
