🔬 Tuesday, May 19 | 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Join us for Discovery Days in the Park—a free, hands-on Science Adventure Series with Collaborative for Children in the Commons! From 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., kids and families can explore, discover, and play through interactive activities designed to spark curiosity and creativity in the great outdoors.

🌼 Wednesday, May 20 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Spend your morning giving back in the McGovern Centennial Garden! Join our weekly volunteer opportunity and help care for one of Hermann Park’s most iconic spaces. Tasks may include light gardening, weeding, and general upkeep. No experience necessary, and all ages welcome, but registration is required.

🌱 Thursday, May 21 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Give back at “Pitch in at Hermann Park” Volunteer Session! Work alongside Conservancy staff on hands-on projects like planting, mulching, and cleanup—small efforts that make a big impact for people, plants, and wildlife ahead of the world coming to Houston this summer. Sign ups are required at the link below.

🌸 Thursday, May 21 | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Be part of something meaningful in the Japanese Garden at Hermann Park. Our weekly volunteer sessions bring the community together to care for this tranquil space through simple tasks like gardening, weeding, and beautification. All skill levels welcome. Registration is required.

For eight weeks throughout March and April, 28 HPC employees stepped up for the Howdy Health Walk Across Texas challenge through Texas A&M AgriLife Extension (Harris County 4-H). 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Our four teams—Hermann’s Hustlers, The Red Hot Chili Steppers, Clammm, and HPC Team 4—crushed it with a combined 8,280 miles walked across Texas! 🗺️🔥 And yes… we had some fierce (and fun!) competition. 💪

Congrats to The Red Hot Chili Steppers who logged an incredible 2,835 miles, with top HPC participant Terry leading the charge with an amazing 812 miles in physical activity. 🏆👏

We loved the energy, teamwork, and healthy competition—and we’re already looking forward to the next challenge! 🎉👟

🚧 Road Closure Notice: Hermann Park Drive 🚧

Hermann Park Drive will be closed from Concert Drive to Caroline Street on the following days. The road will reopen for weekends during this period.
• Sunday, May 10, 8 p.m. – Saturday, May 16, 6 a.m.
• Sunday, May 17, 8 p.m. – Friday, May 22, 6 a.m.

There will be signage in the area helping to redirect visitors to their destinations within the Park.
• To visit the Houston Zoo, access Hermann Park Drive from Cambridge Street to get to the central parking lots
• To visit the Houston Museum of Natural Science, access from Hermann Drive and Caroline Street
