Glad we have champions for safety and change like Laverne Cox in this world.

kicks off Trans Awareness Week. In the past week I have heard from so many trans folks who have expressed that being who they are in America is about to become way more difficult. That maybe true but what I know for sure is that even in the face of violence and discrimination once I chose to live the truth of my black trans womanhood there was no turning back. The journey has been rough and I wouldn't have it any other way. The future is uncertain but it always is no matter who is in office. All we have is the present moment.
