Galveston ISD's Matthew Neighbors named Citizen of the Year In addition to the top honor, the newspaper presented three special recognition awards to people and organizations a significant contributions across Galveston County.

Today, Region 4 welcomed educational leaders from across the region to the 2026 Superintendents' Recognition Ceremony at Hotel ZaZa.

The event brought together superintendents, partners, and education leaders to celebrate outstanding leadership, recognize retiring superintendents for their years of service, and welcome new superintendents to their roles.
