Have you ever had somebody that hypes up a restaurant or product, and then you didn't find it to be as great? Or have you ever seen a commercial or ad that makes something look better than it is? The perception gap is everything for your brand. Expectations goth both ways; the way you think your audience sees you, and the way your audience thinks you are supposed to be. If that's not the same, then both sides will be disappointed. You have to close the perception gap and make everything you do true to what you think and what your audience thinks. When you get that aligned, you may not be perfect, but you'll be brilliantly honest.
