Seven years ago yesterday, you told me to "push" on your stomach, and shortly thereafter were barely able to breathe. Off to the hospital we went. Once admitted, Dad stayed with you every minute, fighting for them to see that you were in pain, and to look past how you were expressing it. Seven years ago tomorrow, you looked like this. Needing machines to keep you alive. Again, your dad never left your side, sleeping in a chair night after night, even when hospital staff insisted he go home, you were just going to sleep and there was nothing we could do until you healed. They told us you were young, and that would give you a fighting chance. Every upset stomach, hiccup or burp brings a memory of your struggle, with your hero by your side. We love you Austman, we will always be by your side.
