Never experienced a match being decided by a call by a person in this sport, until this week

This shot was “too close to call” in the moment and we bowled the rest after Griffin shot the 3 pin only. The game and match would end up being decided by if this shot would be deemed as a strike or the 9 spare.

After an appeal was put in and reviewed, the call was deemed that the rack hit the 3 pin. After a phone call to USBC, we learned a provisional shot should’ve been given because the call was inconclusive and handled incorrectly at the time.

After approximately 1 hour, Griffin was given on a provisional shot after the pair was re-oiled and given no warm up shots, a strike would win SCAD the match. He rang a 10, ending our tournament life.

One of the most unique things I’ve seen in this sport, just stinks we were on the losing end of the match.
