Little hints of Summer are starting to make their way into the shop. I was going to hold off on these new tea towels but couldn’t resist - they are so damn cute! ✨👏

And just like that…it feels like a brand new shop ❤️

I’m so pleased with how the “feels” - new fixtures placement for 90% of the shop and new shelf locations for merchandise.

There are now two floating tables down the middle of the shop. I LOVE the lower sight lines - the shop feels open, less crowded. This intentional change is to encourage a more leisurely experience.

Merchandise is now mostly arranged in small collections and/or vignettes. The shop prior was set up in zones, there is still some of that but “looser”

During this shop flip, signage got misplaced or needs to be created, price tags fell off…please bear with me while those are pieces are made up.

Changes are coming…

I have been seriously considering changing the shop layout but have been reluctant to do so. It’s a huge task to relocate fixtures and inventory.

I am very limited in what is actually possible - my shop is long and narrow. I have to work with the fixtures I already own since I do not have a budget for anything new (or used) There is a wall mounted AC which needs to remain accessible and the existing wall shelves will have to remain where they are now.

Even within those limitations with some creativity, I think I could change things up by moving my large table to the center aisle and shift a number of small piece. I am also changing how/where collections are merchandised.

The reason for the change is simple - is economics. I need to find a way to stand out more, to convert more browsers into actual shoppers.

The shop has become a showroom - folks simply walk-through. Folks are generous with their complements and I believe they are genuine. Although we offer unique items and have a wide selection of products to appeal to variety of gifting occasions- it is not enough.
