🦖That's a wrap on our 2026 Summer Reading Program! 🦖

What an unforgettable summer it has been!

This year, we truly Unearthed a Story together. From exploring the Museum of Osteology's traveling trunk filled with fascinating animal skulls, to meeting incredible performers like Tommy Terrific and Jurassic Experience, every week brought a new adventure. We even created our very own dinosaur excavation, complete with our beloved dinosaur skeleton, Georgia, who quickly became a favorite with so many of our young visitors.

We wrapped it all up by celebrating America's 250th birthday with an End of Summer Reading Bash full of games, crafts, food, birthday cake, and plenty of smiles. Moving the celebration indoors turned out to be one of the best decisions we made, keeping everyone cool and comfortable so the fun could continue all afternoon!

None of this would have been possible without the support of our amazing community.

A huge shout-out also goes to our wonderful teen volunteers, Gabby, Elizabeth, and Jo, who spent the afternoon helping run activity stations and making sure our younger readers had a fantastic time. Your willingness to serve your community did not go unnoticed!

Most of all, thank you to every child, teen, parent, grandparent, and caregiver who spent part of their summer with us. Whether you attended one program or every single one, checked out stacks of books, joined us for story time, or simply stopped by to say hello, you helped make this summer one to remember.

Thank you for making the Choctaw County Public Library a place filled with laughter, learning, imagination, and community all summer long. We already can't wait to see what adventures next summer brings!
