Hereβs a simple homemade version you can use for tacos, nachos, enchiladas, or drizzle on anything:

1 cup heavy cream (or whipping cream)
2 tbsp buttermilk (or plain yogurt as substitute)
1 tsp lime juice (optional, for slight tang)
Pinch of salt

Pour the cream into a clean jar or bowl.
Add buttermilk and mix well.
Cover loosely and leave at room temperature for 12β24 hours (it will thicken slightly).
