Participants can sign up for a day on the water, and volunteers can choose the role that fits them best — paddlers, paddle buddies, beach support, admin help, medical/EMT support, and more.
Our volunteers are essential to creating a safe, fun, and inclusive experience for everyone. If you sign up, please make sure you can commit to your shift so our participants get the support they deserve.
Let’s get back on the water together. 🌊
🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from Adaptive Freedom Foundation! ❤️🤍💙
Today we celebrate the freedoms that unite us—and we remember that true freedom includes the opportunity for everyone to experience adventure, connection, and belonging.
At Adaptive Freedom Foundation, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to experience adventure, movement, and connection. Through adaptive sports and inclusive experiences, we’re creating opportunities for people of all abilities to paddle, explore, laugh, grow, and discover what’s possible.
As you celebrate with family and friends today, we hope you’ll also take a moment to be grateful for the communities that lift one another up and for the freedom to make a difference in someone else’s life.
Here’s to courage, inclusion, wellness, and the limitless possibilities that come when everyone has a place to belong.
Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸🌊

Waves of Ability 2026
A community coming together to remind one another that every body, every story, and every ability belongs.
Waves of Ability was created from the heart of Adaptive Freedom Foundation — to celebrate inclusion, adaptive sports, wellness, connection, and the power of being seen.
On September 26, 2026, we’re gathering at Marine Stadium in Long Beach for a free, family-friendly community festival where barriers soften, confidence rises, and people of all abilities are invited to thrive in motion.
This day is for the participants.
The families.
The caregivers.
The volunteers.
The sponsors.
The community builders.
And everyone who believes access, belonging, and freedom should be for all.
Come be part of the wave.
