🎒 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🎒

It takes hundreds of caring hands to help make 1,500 children feel confident on their very first day of school.

We’re looking for volunteers to join us during Best First Day – Backpack Week, where together we’ll organize, sort, pack, and distribute backpacks filled with brand-new school supplies. We’ll also assemble 700+ family hygiene bags for local families in need.

📅 August 24–28, 2026
👥 Volunteers ages 16+ are welcome
💧 Water and snacks will be provided.

Whether you can serve for one shift or several, your time will make a lasting difference in the life of a child.

🇺🇸 Helping Hand Rescue Mission Holiday Closure ❤️🤍💙

As we pause to celebrate Independence Day and give our incredible staff and volunteers a well-deserved long weekend, Helping Hand Rescue Mission will be closed Friday, July 3 through Monday, July 6. We will reopen on Tuesday, July 7.

Please do not leave donations outside while we are closed. We kindly ask that you hold your donations until we return so they remain safe and in good condition for the families we serve.

As we enjoy this holiday, let’s also remember that the needs in our community don’t take a vacation. There are still neighbors facing hunger, families struggling to make ends meet, and children who need hope.

So while our doors may be closed for a few days, don’t lose heart for our community. Your kindness, prayers, generosity, and compassion continue to make a difference every single day. Together, we’ll be back on Tuesday, ready to serve with renewed energy and grateful hearts.

🥗🍎 Fresh Food Available Today! 🍓🥪

We just received a large vanload of fresh food from our wonderful partners at Trader Joe’s, and we’re making it available to our community at no charge while supplies last!

Stop by for a variety of fresh items, including:

🥪 Sandwiches
🍎 Fruit
🥕 Fresh vegetables
…and more!

We’ll be here until 2:00 PM today for distribution, so come by and share this post with anyone who could use a little extra help.
