We are still celebrating America 250 at the library!
We invite all in the community to celebrate the nation’s founding at a special Meet the Artist event featuring John N. Daniello, the designer behind the library’s 2026 exhibit series, America 250: Celebrating Huntington, NY panel exhibit. During this special event, Daniello will unveil the final two pieces of the exhibit, completing his seven-month series created for the library. Guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments, add their local memories to the Huntington Story Wall, and meet the artist whose work has beautifully brought Huntington’s history, stories, and community spirit to life. Join historian Elizabeth Kahn Kaplan as she discusses the Washington Crossing the Delaware and the story behind the painting. She will talk about the iconic painting and relate the truth about that fateful night and the following day, when General George Washington and his rag-tag army defeated the Hessians.
