Thank you Ann & Ron for teaching these skills, and to everyone who took the classes. *If you’re someone interested in this type of artwork, we will be hosting additional classes please stay tuned!

Look at something that isn't a screen! Research shows that viewing art activates the brain's reward circuits and lowers stress hormones. It's not just beautiful; it's good for you. ❤🎨
Today’s post for our series celebrates the local artists whose work is hanging in our shop right now, and the quiet they bring into a home. The “Silence” Group show in Gallery 610 inside Village Antiques & Art ends May 31st. Consider purchasing a piece to have a place in your home that invites you and your guests to pause and look at something that isn't a phone screen. ✨

Have you heard about our upcoming Needle Felting Workshop with local artist Ann Grimes? 🧵In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the basics of needle felting, a technique that uses sharp barbed needles to transform dyed wool roving into beautiful textile art. ✨🤩
You'll start by creating a wool flower brooch to get comfortable with the tools and technique. These charming little flowers can be worn as brooches, sewn onto bags or jackets, or used in artwork. 🌸 Then you'll move on to completing an 8" x 8" flowers-in-a-flowerpot design using an assortment of colorful wool roving.

Step into a vintage fiber art tradition with Ron Grimes! 🪡 Locker hooking originated in 1920s in Great Britain as a way to make durable, beautiful rugs. Ron brings the same hands-on resourcefulness to this workshop that has defined his own journey into textile arts. 🤩
Using a unique hook-and-needle hybrid tool, you'll learn to pull yarn or fabric strips through canvas and lock them into place with a hidden strand, creating a sturdy, textured piece that's entirely your own ✨ Participants will leave with a finished trivet or placemat.
All materials included. Register today: https://shorturl.at/vZtc0

Did you know six minutes of reading can reduce stress by up to 68%? But here's the catch: it has to be reading for pleasure. A story. A poem. Something with no deadline. 📚
As we continue our Mental Health Awareness Month series, we have to send a love letter to books and to the quiet they create. ❤✨
Pre-loved books across fiction, poetry, biographies, and beyond can be found in store at Village Antiques & Art. Stop in and see us!
