Every shelter has THAT dog.

The one you use to test every new dog.
The one volunteers ask to walk.
The one you recommend when someone says, “I just want an easy dog.”

For us, that’s Sophie.

She’s basically the classroom pet of the shelter.

Need to see if another dog is social? Bring Sophie.
Need a dog who’s calm in a chaotic environment? Sophie.
Need a dog who’s just… easy? Yep. Sophie.

She doesn’t need to be the center of attention. She just quietly makes every situation better.

She’s gentle without being timid. Social without being overwhelming. Playful without being wild. She walks beautifully on leash, loves meeting new people, adores other dogs, and seems to think everyone she meets is already her friend.

At around 30–35 pounds, she’s the perfect “take her anywhere” size, too.

Honestly, if we could clone one shelter dog a hundred times, we’d probably pick Sophie.

Instead, we’d settle for finding her the family she’s been waiting for. Because dogs this good shouldn’t have to wait this long. 🩷

We’ve got another wave of kittens being spayed and neutered this week, which means even more tiny faces are ready to find families.
