Esports is growing quickly here at Marshall University and lead members of the ECA (Esports Club Association) sought out an Allies Training within the 1st week of fall semester to learn how to provide a safe & accomodating group activity for all participants! Esports isnโt just video gaming; students learn leadership, teamwork, communication skills, and so much more! Thank you to the ECA for making inclusivity a priority! It has been a BIG week for fostering Autism Acceptance on Marshall's campus! This evening, College Program Support Specialists, Zach Bailey & Jenna Adkins presented The Allies for Autism & Neurodiversity training to a group of 365 incoming freshman as a part of the Week of Welcome session requirements! We saw many thoughtful comments & questions from this group! Thank you for attending & participating ๐

Support Specialists, Jenna Adkins & Emily Reeves trained 23 new Biology Lab Teaching Assistants today! Thank you to the Biology Department for always ensuring new TA staff are equipped with the knowledge & skills gained during our Allies trainings each semester! ๐

Today, College Program Director, Bianca Bragg & our Mental Health Counselor, Laura Viars trained roughly 300 incoming freshmen to be ALLIES! We had an incredible discussion with those in attendance & are excited to train even more folks throughout the week during Marshall's fall 2022 Week of Welcome!
