Having a hard time keeping your potted plants thriving?

Amy, our Seasonal Annuals Expert, shares three tips for keeping your flowers and pots healthy all summer long:

1. Start with proper drainage. A common mistake is to place Styrofoam or pebbles at the bottom of pots. Instead, place a screen over the drainage holes to keep soil in place while allowing water to drain properly.

2. Elevate containers with pot feet. Raising pots improves drainage and airflow while preventing water from pooling. Pot feet are readily available at Laurel Group.

3. Use a conservative amount of Soil Moist®, also available at Laurel Group, according to package directions. This moisture-retaining additive can help your plants stay hydrated during the hottest days of summer.
