My customer tried various sets of so called expensive "PAF clones" and every attempt he couldn't get a good balance between the neck and bridge or the instrument was just too bright.
Virtually unplayable.
This is my favorite type of job, where I listen to the instrument acoustically and feel its response and listen to what it needs, and then make a set of pickups specifically for the instrument.
The customer response, "another home run"
A few other wiring harness issues were addressed during the process of installing the pickups

A follow up with the D'Armond repair and wiring harness build for the D'Angelico New Yorker.
Had a great time hanging out with Cris Mirabella and John Monteleone over at John's shop last Thursday to watch it all come together.
turns out, the New Yorker is one of a pair of sequential serial numbered D'Angelico's owned by John...how cool is that?
