NEW SEMINARIAN FROM CATHEDRAL PARISH
Congratulations to one of our Cathedral employees, Fox Garon, who has been accepted as a seminarian for the Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama! Bishop Raica plans to send Fox to St. Meinrad Seminary in Indiana beginning this August. Originally from southeastern Louisiana, Fox came to know and love Birmingham while studying at Samford University. During his time there, he converted to the Catholic faith and became active in Campus Ministry, the local young adult community, and Cathedral parish life. For about the past year, Fox has served as the Cathedral’s Faith Formation Coordinator, overseeing our OCIA program, leading our Youth Group, and coordinating Sunday adult education. He has also been a sacristan for daily Mass, a lector, and an altar server. While we are sad to see him leave the staff (his last day will be July 10), we could not be prouder of him for generously answering God’s call and submitting his discernment to the Church. As with all our seminarians, our hope is simply that they do God’s will. We send Fox with our prayers, blessing, and support, confident that the Lord will guide him wherever he is calling.
