History, legacy, and leadership came full circle on November 7, 2025, as Dr. Harriet Kimbro Hamilton celebrated the release of her newest book, TITLE IX: From the Front Row: The History of Women’s Athletics from 1970 to 1990, with an unforgettable book signing at the historic Fisk University surrounded by her former student athletes, family, and friends in honor of her 50th school anniversary 🎉💙💛

🏆 As the first female Athletic Director of Fisk University, Dr. Hamilton made history while coaching volleyball and basketball and mentoring generations of student athletes including actress and comedian Kym Whitley who went on to make their own marks in the world. Her book gives readers a front row seat to the evolution of women’s athletics, capturing the challenges, victories, and faith that fueled her journey as both a coach and a trailblazer.

📚 In addition to her groundbreaking work at Fisk, Dr. Hamilton also spent time teaching at Tennessee State University and Alabama A&M University continuing her commitment to shaping future leaders in education and sports.

✨ Published by In Due Season Publishing®️, this release marks Dr. Hamilton’s second book, following her acclaimed first publication, Daddy’s Scrapbook, which received the Robert Peterson Recognition Award at the 19th annual Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference for its contribution to Negro League history.
