Hatched Design Co.
Brand and website design studio hatching timeless brands for budding entrepreneurs. Hand over the reigns, girl.
My 9-to-5 showed me the door, so I built my own.
With over a decade of design experience behind the scenes at brands like Kate Spade and TUMI, I had the skills; I just needed the push.
So I founded Hatched Design Co to help small businesses and entrepreneurs get the kind of polished, strategic brand I used to build for the big guys — without the corporate budget.
okay so this is the kind of thing that makes running a business from a small town so good. 🤍
I met a client in person this week — someone I’d met only the weekend before at a toddler’s birthday party — and we ended up talking for way longer than we meant to.
Turns out she lives five minutes from me. FIVE MINUTES.
We’ve been in the same Aldi probably a dozen times, walked right by each other and had no idea.
Somewhere after laughing about how small this town really is, we landed on actual business ideas. For her. For me. For some future thing we were brainstorming.
This is the part of working with locals I didn’t expect to love as much as I do. It’s not just brand and website work anymore. It’s friendship. It’s swapping ideas over coffee. It’s getting genuinely excited about what we could build — together, separately, who knows yet.
My entrepreneur brain is fully turned on right now and I am so here for it. 😄
If you’re a local business owner and we haven’t met in person yet — let’s fix that. You just never know what’s five minutes away!🤍
Confessions of a brand and web designer who is a master at designing brands that their target audience gushes over.
Guilty as charged and won’t apologize for it😉
👀 👀 Want to know what’s actually on my desk this week?
A clothing boutique. Then another boutique. And a third one (it’s apparently boutique season). A healthcare practice. An in-home care agency. A civil engineering firm. A leadership coach. Plus a couple of builds I’m quietly handling for other designers who got buried in their own workload.
So somewhere around seven brands going at once... and not a single one looks like the others.
Business coaches always tell designers we’re supposed to “niche down” to one type of business. But after doing this a while, here’s what I actually believe: the boutique owner and the engineer are after the same thing underneath it all. They want a brand that feels true to their values…annnnd to stop cringing when they hand someone their website.
The industry of the client changes almost every project I take on. The real job never does.
That’s the part I love about brand and web design — it’s never really about the industry. It’s about the person behind it.
