We had some nice weather (at least by horse show standards) and a great day for our county horse show. Good luck at the state show!

It was a warm one, but we had a great time learning how to show different livestock species. Thank you to all of our experts who led the showmanship workshop today!

If you want to learn how to show livestock or get in a little extra practice before round robin then come to the showmanship workshop at the SHED on June 9th at 2:00!

The 2026 South Dakota 4-H State Horse Show will be held July 13–15 in Huron, SD.

The Horse Show registration, Contestant Packet and Show Guide are now available! Be sure to check them out for important details and deadlines. The 4-H State Horse Show registration no exceptions deadline is July 1 at 11:59 PM CT in FairEntry.

We had a great day at horse camp where our horse students had a chance to practice their horsemanship skills. A big thank you goes out to Teri and Tara for helping our young riders improve! If you want to see our young equestrians in action come to the Beadle county 4-H horse show on June 30th!

The South Dakota Swine Summit is a program for youth ages 12-21 interested in learning more about the swine industry. 🐖

Participants will tour the SDSU Swine Education and Research Facility and attend educational sessions about biosecurity, nutrition, animal evaluation, showmanship and daily care, and carcass evaluation and anatomy.
