DFW Virtual Tours

***MATTERPORT UPDATE***

After looking more into the situation between Matterport/CoStar and Zillow it appears as though for the time being no Matterport Tours are being displayed on Zillow. Matterport is blaming Zillow and Zillow is blaming Matterport. Matterport has assured its service providers that they have done nothing different yet Zillow says Matterport has pulled the API that allows Zillow to utilize the tour.

There are alternatives to Matterport including Zillows own Home 3D solution which is FAR less capable in terms of function and quality. DFW Virtual Tours does offer Zillow 3D Home Tours. There are additional 3D platforms in which I am investigating to possibly replace Matterport moving forward.

In the meantime please reach out to the NTREIS and any other RE association you belong to so they can advocate on your behalf. Additionally reach out to Zillow, Matterport, and CoStar directly and urge them for a speed resolution.

Again, this supposedly comes as a result of CoStar claiming Zillow has copyright infringement going on which in the fine print of basically every MLS and RE portal says when posting to these sites you relinquish copyrights so they images can be used across multiple platforms without dispute.

The sad part about this is when CoStar recently purchased Matterport they knew all of these details. The problem is there is a conflict of interest with CoStar and Zillow as CoStar owns homes.com and Apartments.com.

At this point both companies in my opinion are being childish but in this case CoStar is in the wrong.
