The first time I met Councilperson Bridget McCandless was when she spoke to my leadership class last fall. In less than an hour, she taught me new things about our city, identified problems and offered real-time, accessible solutions. I took her business card, shook her hand, and told her she was my new role model, someone I knew I could look up to.

The next time I met Bridget, she told me about an immersive poverty experience she attended where she had to learn what it took financially and through resources to get out of prison and start her life over-- and how within 3 months she couldn't make her rent 🤣-- and that's when I really started learning about WHO Bridget is as a person and leader in our community.

And EXACTLY the person you want as the mayor of this city we love so deeply 💓

I've now met Bridget many times and there's something about when you just naturally connect with someone, for no apparent reason but just through soul, and Bridget is one of those people for me 🩵
