Just saw this sad news. My father and I have been established as an authorized Howard Miller and Ridgeway clock service center in the Kansas City area for several years now.

‘Unsustainable to continue’: Zeeland-based Howard Miller to shut down Zeeland-based clock manufacturer Howard Miller says it intends to wind down operations after nearly 100 years in business.

Just received a call from a clock owner whose clock has stopped working. I had checked this clock quite a while ago and was supposed to service it since it had been many years.

When I called at the agreed time to arrange pickup of the clock I was ignored with no return calls.

Doesn't make sense if you have a clock, to just keep running it until it stops rather than maintaining it properly. It's not as expensive, but like running your car without service until it stops running. Now I fear the clock will need more than a simple cleaning and fresh oil.
