How did we meet?

Well….we met through the app you’re viewing this post on!

That’s right Instagram.

Ashlee & Ashley followed each other for quite some time when Ashley posted on her stories that she wanted to make some content with other local esthis. Ashlee slide into the DMS and said let’s do it. They met twice before Ashlee blurted out “Want to meet up for coffee & chat about hosting an event together?”

And on a Tuesday at The Well Coffee house, November 24TH Project Evolve Co. was born.

No really, we came up with the name, had a logo, and planned our whole first event over a cup of coffee.

Isn’t it crazy that if we hadn’t reached out to each other Project Evolve Co. may not exist.

This is your sign to reach out to that brand to work together, message the esthi you’ve been wanting to collab with, and set out for that goal you are allowing fear to hold on back on.

You truly never know what one simple action step may hold for you!

In this industry, we get it is hard to be original while all sharing similar information as one another.

We may get inspiration from a post or infographic we swipe by on our timeline and say, “OH, I just got an idea for something for my page!”

Sooooo what is the fine line between inspiration vs. imitation?

When you imitate someone's infographic or caption word for word it’s unethical and no good comes from it. That professional spent time (maybe even hours or days) creating that infographic/caption from scratch and it’s wrong to just swipe it from them without giving it your own spin or tagging the original creator for inspiration.

When you are inspired by someone’s work you are taking an idea and combining it with other ideas in your head and creating something new. Even in this circumstance if your post was heavily influenced by another creator it’s kind and polite to tag the person and show support for others in your community.

When getting inspiration from a fellow industry babes let’s make sure we are giving credit where credit is due, and focus on being inspired rather than imitating!
