Panama, Days 3 & 4. The last two days blend together as we continue our search and select coffees. Tessie Hartmann’s hospitality and the excellence exhibited at Mi Finquita. Their wine globe fermentation is special and we hope to offer some this year. Even though we didn’t get to cup at Mt Totomus. Sharing a coffee with Karin and Ash was worth the trip up to the top of the mountain. Environmental stewardship is at the forefront and the care is evident.
We started day 4 in Panama City, where we got to experience a moment of what Franz is doing at Lost Origin. Extreme attention to detail and immaculate coffee selection helps to provide an incredible backdrop to cup coffee in. Extremely impressive operation and love what’s going on there.
We finished with Jose and Abu, beautiful classic Washed and Naturals for our final table alongside a man who is humble about their excellence and strives to showcase his coffee in their best light. This opportunity has left us acknowledging the excellence of coffee and the intentional hospitality given to everyone who visits. Until next time, we’re so happy to have made new connections and look forward to what we get to offer.

Day 2, Panama. Elida Estates, Finca Nuguo, and TNT Labs. A beautiful set of farms. An incredibly generous, down to earth, and exceptional producer who opened his home to us. A young facility that is under constant improvement dedicated to processing in unique ways every lot they produce.
Our second day here was full, 55 coffees later, and we continue to admire the beauty of both the land and coffee. There is something that feels like home here, it reminds me of Appalachia, the trees, roads and time spent in the dirt. We take these moments when them come and appreciate the fact that we even get to do this and be present at this level.
