Johnson Memorial Health is one of 16 Indiana hospitals forced to close their obstetrics programs since 2020 due to growing financial pressures.

This means more pregnant women who have to travel farther for the care they need.

Community hospitals need stronger Medicaid reimbursement and policies that support and preserve local access to maternity care.
