Does the back of your heel hurt after a walk, run, or workout?

It could be Achilles tendinitis.

The Achilles tendon connects your calf muscles to your heel bone and can become irritated from overuse, tight calf muscles, or a sudden increase in activity.

Common symptoms include:
πŸ‘£ Pain at the back of the heel
πŸ‘£ Stiffness in the morning
πŸ‘£ Discomfort during or after exercise.

Ignoring it can make recovery take longer, so it's best to address symptoms early.

βœ” Pain after sitting for long periods
βœ” Tenderness on the bottom of the heel.

The good news? Early treatment can often prevent heel pain from becoming a long-term problem.

Summer is hereβ€”and if you have diabetes, your feet deserve a little extra attention.

Warmer weather often means:
πŸ‘£ Walking barefoot
πŸ”₯ Hot pavement
🩴 Sandals and flip-flops
πŸ–οΈ More time outside

For people with diabetes, even a small cut, blister, or burn can become a bigger problem if it goes unnoticed.

This summer:
βœ”οΈ Check your feet every day
βœ”οΈ Never walk barefoot outdoors
βœ”οΈ Wear shoes that fit properly
βœ”οΈ Protect your feet from hot surfaces
βœ”οΈ Contact your podiatrist if you notice a wound that isn't healing

Taking a minute each day to look at your feet can help keep you healthy and active all summer long.
