As families across our communities prepare for the new school year, Indiana Health Centers put together a simple checklist to help parents cover the health basics, from sports physicals and wellness visits to vaccinations and prescription refills.
Did you know that a sports physical and an annual wellness visit can often be done in the same appointment, saving families a second trip? Swipe through for the full list.
Medicare patients get a yearly wellness visit to develop or update a personalized plan to help prevent disease or disability, based on current health and risk factors. Many patients at Indiana Health Centers are not aware that a Medicare Annual Wellness Visit is available to them and that it is covered through Medicare. It’s a yearly visit, it’s usually free, and it can help you catch health problems before they become serious.

Indiana Health Centers is excited to welcome Dea Kent as a Nurse Practitioner provider in our IHC Kokomo and IHC Peru clinics.
Dr. Dea Kent, DNP, RN, ANP-C, FNP-BC, CWOCN, WOCNF, earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Indiana University–Indianapolis in 2015 and her Master of Science as a Nurse Practitioner from Ball State University in 2005. She has been a Registered Nurse since 1988 and brings more than 25 years of experience specializing in Internal Medicine, as well as the care of patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence needs.
A Kokomo native, Dr. Kent is deeply committed to serving communities across Central Indiana. Throughout her career, she has worked in both clinical practice and quality improvement initiatives to enhance care processes and patient outcomes. She believes strongly that access to high-quality healthcare is essential for individuals to live their healthiest and most fulfilling lives. She is excited to be part of Indiana Health Centers and looks forward to supporting Hoosiers on their journey to better health.
