PLANT-BASED PROTEINS PROMOTE LONGEVITY AND GOOD HEALTH

A recent study in Nature Communications found that a predominantly plant-based protein diet led to a lower risk of mortality from chronic diseases, and higher rates of vitality.

Most people equate protein sources as animal in nature: fish, beef, pork, poultry, eggs, and dairy. But the plant world is rich in protein sources: whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, and even fruits and veggies.

This does not mean that you have to be vegan to benefit. It means that most of your protein can come from plants, and you can supplement with animal foods as needed.

Some reasons I prefer a plant-based diet include:
Foods are colorful
Foods are flavorful
Foods are rich in fiber and nutrients
It helps the environment
I feel happier
I have more energy and good health
There are so many options in the plant world

I invite you to check out this article and consider making one small change, such as...

Substituting one animal-protein meal a week with a plant-based protein option.
Doing a plant-based diet one day a week
Trying a plant-based food each week that you don't normally eat.
