After last year's incredible success with 120 participants, First Strokes is back and this year we're going even bigger!

In this flexible 4-week program, you'll row alongside other beginners while soaking in the beauty of the Eagle Creek Reservoir. It's the perfect opportunity to try something new, make new friends, have fun, and enjoy this summer while learning one of the most amazing sports out there — rowing. What an amazing Midwest Championships! 31 boats entered, 24 advancing to finals, 7 receiving medals, and in a historic turn of events - The INDIANAPOLIS ROWING CENTER won the WOMEN’S SCULLING TEAM TROPHY for the FIRST TIME EVER! Congrats to all our Juniors on a strong season!

Tomorrow we head to Midwest Junior Championships. We’ve putting the work and we are ready! This team has grown a lot this year and we wish them the best of luck as they compete this weekend. Our *Final Senior Spotlight is and is proof that the best things come in the smallest packages! Mary Bain has spent 6 years on this team with us and has proven herself time and again. A three time winner of the yearly Team Spirit award, this gal has s***k, humility, and a deep love for all things rowing and IRC. It has been a true joy watching her find “her people” here and seeing her thrive. Our boathouse will not be the same without you, . We are so glad you are a part of the IRC family. Good Luck!
