In a recent study, human kidneys were successfully transported by drone, helping researchers explore new ways to move lifesaving organs quickly and efficiently.
While deliveries from the sky might feel futuristic, transporting organs by drone for transplantation could one day help save even more lives by reducing logistical challenges and expanding access to transplantation.
This technology might be new, but the mission remains the same: giving hope to patients waiting for their lifesaving gift.
Every breakthrough starts with the incredible generosity of organ, tissue and eye donors and their families.

MOMENT OF SILENCE: We ask you to join us for a moment of silence in honor and recognition of Jenee for her lifesaving gift of organ donation. The magnitude of this decision, to save those most in need, is to be honored and admired. In this moment, we regard Jenee with respect and dignity above all else.

"My mom, Jenee, was selfless until the moment she took her last breath. She was kind and warm, with a sense of humor that people who knew her as a child still talk about. She was non-judgmental and forgiving. She was a grandma for two years, and it will never be enough. She lit up any room she walked into. She loved animals, especially her rescue dog Sue Sue, foraging for mushrooms in Michigan woods with her daughter, getting back-tickles from her mom, and laughing with her sister and nephew, and was forever grateful for the priceless additions of her stepfather and step-siblings. We held one another up all the time, but she was the rock of our family, and will continue to be even in her absence. We miss you dearly and will try to make you proud every day."
