Some singers tend to sing every note flat, or as we teachers say a half pitch too low. Proper breathing control is essential to singing on key.

Allow your stomach to expand when you inhale, increasing the air you take in.
Stand while singing.
Relax your neck, while singing high or you will strain causing you to get off key.
Keep your tongue flat and jaws loose ro open your throat to allow air to flow.
Practice softly, belting out notes loudly defeats the purpose for training.
