We’ve been keeping this under wraps for a bit, but it was such an honor to be approached by for their wanted feature. We’re so glad these buckles are getting a spotlight and that we were able to also feature and speak to how these buckles truly wouldn’t be what they are without Nate helping us tweak our design to work better and Brian from for recycling such gorgeous local lumber.

A fresh batch of buckles are just in time to launch this week - some headed to to keep this one company, but we’ll also be updating our website soon with the fresh stock. These buckles are 100% handmade down to sheet metal, wire and making each unique wood piece. We carry three metal options: blackened copper, brass and nickel.

While we’re currently not working on any new jewelry at the moment and have somewhat stepped out of the market lineup, these buckles are staples we will continue to make. They really have been one of our only standard offerings even though each is unique, and they help Zack keep his metal skills on point and give me a fun way to jump in the studio to put a brushed finish on the metal and make and polish the wood fronts. It’s always felt like an ideal way to blend what Zack and I each enjoy the most about making this line of work, so we are so grateful for this opportunity.

Hey there - we’re jumping on after a long break to let you know we’ve freshened up the shop with some new stud earrings, fan-favorite apex styles and a pair of earrings made of salvaged pine from the future home of ! There are over 100 items for sale in our shop, but if there’s something special you’re thinking of for the holidays that you don’t see, THIS is the time to reach out because December gets crazy, and frankly we’re getting better at saying no to last minute requests.

It seems obligatory to apologize for it being months since our last post, since we know we wouldn’t have come this far alone, but we have really enjoyed taking an extended break from content creation. It’s hard to believe that we’re staring down the end of the year already. We were approached to do some amazing large-scale projects this year that kept us super busy, but have been shy to share too much of that work here as most were opportunities that came to us more from our connections and desire to help rather than our specific expertise or our own artistic direction. It’s been exciting to push ourselves, and we have learned a ton, but we respect the many other local builders and artists who do this type of work all the time too much place ourselves into direct competition with them.

That said, we wish to reestablish Bicursal Designs more as a creative collective than solely a brand of jewelry, accessories and housewares. This year more than any other has cemented our desire to live a life driven by passions, connections, and authenticity, and for us, that path seems to be growing and evolving more and more. We are likely embarking on a time where we step away from markets for a while to just have fun in the studio and throw a lightning rod up and see what strikes. We still feel driven by our shared aesthetic and seek to make works that bridge form and function with an attention to local, sustainable materials, but we are excited that we don’t know exactly what that will look like yet. We extend a heartfelt thank you to all our friends and those who support us. We’ll try and share more regularly from our journey into the unknown.
