i used to avoid looking at my scars in the mirror

today i looked at them on this new body i’ve built and felt nothing but gratitude. For the last year and a half taking care of my body has been so important to me, not just for my overall health but for my lungs. every day i wake up thankful.

but more than that, i’m grateful that i’m still able to sing. if i couldn’t, i honestly don’t know how i’d navigate this life. singing is such an important outlet for me. not just as a career, but simply the act of singing itself. i love it.

3 lung surgeries and still able to do it feels divinely tailored. like i’m exactly where i’m supposed to be. Jumping around stages and singing the highest of notes lol

so i’m thankful to this body. and thankful for you all.
