This page will show the art I make and some description of the processes used. I intend to offer items for sale at times.

Fresh off the lathe, red oak bowl ready for finish. This one has a home already.
Made from a tree dropped off post Helene damage (and missed the termite damage from the rest of the tree).

The downside of woodturning.
There are wood scraps and chunks everywhere (not to mention sawdust and shavings). Right now there’s a ton of pecan, which doesn’t split well for firewood either. Living in city limits stops me from just throwing a match to it, which is terribly tempting.
Once the bugs find their way in past the cambium layer, it’s a race to who gets to keep the wood; them or me. Since I treat nearly all the woodworking I do as natural as possible, I use no chemicals to stave off the bugs or the fungus. Makes for some interesting pieces, but there is a limit.
I’ll keep chipping away at it.
