Happy Fatherโ€™s Day to the guys who put their families first.

To the adopted dads. The stepdads. The first time dads. The granddads. To the father figures.

To the guys who sacrifice so much to take care of those who look up to them, who depend on them, and who love them.

To the guys who stop at nothing to protect and raise the future.

We see you. Thank you for all you do ๐Ÿ”ฅ

CHARLOTTE NO GI OPEN 2026 ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿค

Thankful for a safe and fun trip this weekend to compete with the team! We couldnโ€™t have done it without the friends and family who always support us and have our backs.

Coach Joe stepped back on the comp floor after a 20 year hiatus (and for his black bet comp debut) to take ๐Ÿฅ‡in his weight class (competed a weight class up) and ๐Ÿฅ‰in open class after going 1-1 and losing to the number one seed in the semis.

Emmy made her first competition debut with a tale to remember: after getting food poisoning the week before competing and inadvertently dropping 12lbs, her goal was simply to show up and see what competition feels like. We are proud of her because mentally, that is a rough place to be before your first competition and we can only imagine having to try and decide what to do in that situation ๐Ÿฅˆ

Coach Dahlion went 1-1 for ๐Ÿฅˆ in his division showing more dominant back attacks! We are super proud of him for this next stage of his journey at brown belt!

Coach Pepper went 4-0 for ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅ‡ with two subs and a lot of points. She had to face the same two girls in open class, which was a little mental, but stayed on it to get the second division win!

Grateful to Professors Rafa and Logan of Alliance GVL for supporting our little crew, to Mike Cruz for the endless hours of feedback and coaching, and to Janelle (Mrs. Coach Joe) for being the taxi woman, pit crew, and team cheerleader!

Until the next one!

Thank you Newbreed Jiu Jitsu Federation for a fun Saturday! We won some and lost some, but the goal is always the same: bring our best personal effort, no matter what is in front of us.

Emma and Allie both made their official grey belt debuts today with Emma going 1-1 for silver in no gi and 2-0 for gold in gi! Allie had to bump up an age bracket and 20lbs for a match, so there was a lot of learning today, but she kept stepping back on the mats and didnโ€™t quit for a double silver. We are so proud of her!

Coach Dahlion went 2-0 in welterweight advanced no gi, and Coach Pepper went 2-0 in middleweight advanced no gi and 2-0 in the absolute for double gold!

The goal was to pressure test some techniques today, and we are so proud and happy with what we saw! HUGE thanks to the parents for always being so supportive and extra huge thanks to Coach Joe for running on like 2 hours of sleep to coach the coaches ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ”ฅ

Until next time! ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿผ๐Ÿฆ„๐Ÿ”ฅ

Aiming for big things in 2026 โœจ

Next month marks 4 years of Arrows Jiu Jitsu. It wasnโ€™t always called that, but what it has stood for remains the same: that jiu jitsu is for everyone, and at our gym, we encourage all our students to pursue jiu jitsu to their own personal preference of mastery in a co-op, family based environment.

From learning jiu jitsu for fitness and athletic skill, to competing at the highest level with the guidance of world class competitors and coaches, Arrows Jiu Jitsu aims to bring cutting edge jiu jitsu to the upstate community in a family friendly environment that fosters personal growth and encourages personal responsibility to make goals reality for ourselves and those around us.

Tradition brought us here. Progression builds the future. We look back in respect to what has brought us to this point, while keeping our eyes on the future and those who are shaping it. Itโ€™s a cycle: those who got us to this point were once the pioneers stepping into the arena and trying new things and building the foundation of our sport.

Now we hope to do the same.

We are excited to bring a new look to the Arrows logo to reflect all the places we have been, all the places we will go, and the many goals, missions, and purposes that bring us together as a gym: different, but together, always supporting each other whether our goals are the uniform or in headed in different directions.

The future is bright. Letโ€™s get it ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿน

A super fun jiu jitsu game for kids:
Cows and Cowboys! ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿผ

Work controlling your opponent, flattening them out, and/or getting to the back with this fun and silly game (bonus points if you listen to Johnny Cash and Marty Robbins while you play ๐Ÿ˜‚)

Have you ever played a game like this before? What does your gym call it?

At Arrows, we are proud to have a large part of our student body be female students ๐Ÿ’–

We hope our mats are a welcome environment for girls of all ages and walks of life!

Whether you want to train for fun or for competition, Arrows Jiu Jitsu offers world class instruction from athletes and coaches who have competed and podiumed at some of the biggest stages in the game in competitive age divisions.

Our goal is to support all students in a co-op learning environment that fosters care and support for each other, while learning jiu jitsu in a fun way ๐Ÿ”ฅ
