DVIP/RVAP is seeking Event Volunteers for our Neighbors Helping Neighbors Initiative!

Our goal is simple: neighbors helping neighbors.

Make a positive impact by volunteering with DVIP/RVAP advocates at events in your community!

Neighbors Helping Neighbors volunteers assist with events in Lee, Des Moines, Henry, Washington, Cedar, Iowa, and Van Buren counties.

We want folks to see familiar faces at our tables, people they recognize and trust from their own communities. Together, we can do more than our advocates can do alone.

All volunteers will complete a brief training on how to set up and manage a tabling event. Learn more and sign-up at the link in bio or below. Please Note: volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to these events. Please also bring a chair if desired and plan for sun and weather.

ANNOUNCING: THE ROW!

Over the past year, DVIP/RVAP: Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Crisis Services has continued to expand on our monumental growth, providing both immediate and long-term crisis support services to 3490 victim-survivors across our eight-county service region.

Included in this expansion is the addition of a new transitional housing program in Johnson County: The Row, the units for which are currently under construction and are set to open to families as of August 2026.

We are partnering with the amazing Houses into Homes to furnish and decorate all six units. Each unit will require durable and reliable furnishings, preferably art or decorations, one queen sized bed, two twin bunk beds, a kitchen table with chairs, and living room furniture (couches, chairs, end tables), etc.
