Community Safety Notice: At approximately 1:30 PM today, a community member was stopped in the A9 Restaurant parking lot by two adult males who questioned her about her U.S. citizenship. She reported feeling hostility and discomfort around the two men. One individual was in a black Dodge Durango, the other in a dark gray GMC-style vehicle. After brief questioning, she complied and they left.

Local police have since confirmed with FBI affiliates and Homeland Security Investigations that there are no ICE agents currently or earlier today in the Toledo, Iowa area. The two individuals acted of their own accord and are not affiliated with any known law enforcement agency.

Please stay alert, call 911 and report any similar encounters to local law enforcement.
