"In Guatemala, during the independence day celebrations, outstanding students are given recognition for being class valedictorian and are asked to be the class flag bearer. We invited the child sponsorship children who had been named valedictorian in their grade in their schools to come in and give them tribute to celebrate their achievement." -Monica, PID Field Director, Guatemala. We had 26 kids in the Child Sponsorship Program named Valedictorian of their grade in school. We are so proud of these students for working so hard all year no matter what obstacles have been put before them. Way to go!!!
